It was a cold, harsh world that'd only let the most clever and strong survive. A mountain-side like no other. This place was associated with such horrendous memories, stories and legends that even the bravest would rather stay away from it than risk dying of cold and falling off a cliff just to end up yet another frozen statue in its roots. It was a beautiful place, thought the lonely figure, flying around over the sharp-peaked land. Snow and stone as far as the eye could see, the perfect place to clear her mind up. For days she had flied, watching the World below her, seeing nothing but the pathetic lives dwelling in their misery. War, death and blood more than she'd ever seen before.
She was tired. The memories of the living nightmare would have to be thought about, there was no other way to get rid of the tight knot around her throat that thinking about the ordeal gave her. The more she thought, the more tired she felt. Tired..? No, she felt ancient, the world's pain burning in her chest, tearing her very soul. She needed rest, needed it more than ever and after only a while, she found the perfect spot from the top of a mountain. And as she landed on the virgin snow, she felt a small peak of happiness. At least there was one place these horrors wouldn't reach. This snowy mountain-top of perfect solitude.
An illustration of Altair for Terazed. :3 I decided to try my skills with the character, and couldn't be more happy about it! I've learned SO much! 8) I've gained great critique, learned many things and gotten new friends in the process. Best possible situation! This wasn't the easiest piece to work on, though! My computer tilted and erased the psd file after 50 hours of work, thus I had to re-paint the whole thing(not from scratch, the background's still partially the same!) I had to re-do the wings three or four times. :D But the ones I've got here.... Perfect, just perfect ♥ The first successful pair of wings I've painted! c:
A very fun painting to do, and very rewarding. I just hope Terazed's going to find it pleasing as well!

Yay, you are finally done. This did came out great. It was neat seeing the progress you did making this. The brown feathers have a very nice touch of texture to them. And the little story in your comments does bring event in the pic together well.
yup, finally done! :) Thanks! The feathers are my personal favorite. The details took ages, but they turned out so nice. *3* First successful wings I've painted, I must say! -proud of myself- c:
Seriously amazing piece Skull. I'm just in awe with how you did all the lineless detailing. I can't wrap my head around all this detail, it's so fantastic.
